How old are the birds you sell?
They are 7-12 weeks old.

How long do parakeets live?
Average lifespan for parakeets is 8-12 years.

How many parakeets should I buy?
You can keep Parakeets as singles, pairs, or groups. If you want two birds you can keep either two females, two males, or a pair.

What is the gestation period and number of young?

What do parakeets eat?
For a basic diet we recommend either the Abba Premium Parakeet Diet or Sun Seed Parakeet Mix.  Good supplements include Millet Spray, Honey Sticks, Dry Greens, Budgamine, or Oats and Groats.  A teaspoon of Grit (Parakeet Gravel) should be sprinkled on the floor of the cage or placed in a separate dish. Grit is eaten by the bird and kept in its gizzard.

Parakeets are America's most popular pet bird. There are many reasons for their popularity. They are colorful, hardy, and easy to care for. They are lively, playful, and make very entertaining pets. With proper training they can be taught tricks and even talk.
