Some commonly asked questions about canaries:

How old are the birds you sell?
They are 9-12 weeks old.

How long do canaries live?
Average lifespan for canaries is 4-7 years.

How many canaries should I buy?
Keep your canary in a cage by itself to insure good song. You may keep two canaries on opposite sides of the same room. Often they will sing to each other.

What is the gestation period and number of young?

What do canaries eat?
For a basic diet we recommend either the Abba Premium Parakeet Diet or Sun Seed Parakeet Mix.  Good supplements include Millet Spray, Honey Sticks, Dry Greens, Budgamine, or Oats and Groats.  A teaspoon of Grit (Parakeet Gravel) should be sprinkled on the floor of the cage or placed in a separate dish. Grit is eaten by the bird and kept in its gizzard.

Why do canaries make great pets?
Male canaries are popular birds most noted for their beautiful song. Their warm colors, interesting manners, and graceful motions also add to their desirability. Canaries are hardy pets and require only minimal care.
