Elmer's Aquarium Community Tank Suggestions
You have set-up your new tank and are ready for fish. We can help you
select the right combination of fish.
Our Store Layout: For your convenience our store is grouped so that
small peaceful fish are located in the same section, and more active fish are
located together etc. More aggressive fish are located in a separate
aisle. Our staff can show you where each group is.
Our store Signage: To make your selection easier the signs in our
store give additional information on each fish. The sign should tell the
adult size, any special care requirements, our community rating, and our
hardiness rating.
Hardiness Rating: The letter to the right of the fishes name in our store signs contains a "hardiness rating". If you are a beginner you may want to pick fish that are rated A or AA. Here is the key
AA- Most hardy fish, good for beginners. The AA includes our 25 best fish for beginners.
A - Hardy, good for beginners
B - Be sure to study its requirements before you buy. May not be the best choice for a beginner.
Elmer's Suggested Community Aquariums: To help you plan your community tank the staff at Elmer's has put together a list of 12 suggestions.
