Community Tank Type 5
Tiger Barbs/ Active Community Fish
| General: | Tiger Barbs are a great community fish.. They are colorful, active, and very hardy. Unfortunately they have acquired a reputation as aggressive because they will nip fins of slow moving fish such as guppies or neons. The solution is simply to keep them with other active fish. This community tank is great for beginners because there are so many hardy fish . Barbs and gouramis are best purchased in groups. |
| Tank Conditions: | This community tank is
suitable for tanks 10 gallon or more with standard filtration and heating.
(For filtration we recommend an undergravel filter and an outside power
filter.) Because many of these fish will grow best results are obtained if
you use a tank of 30 gallons or more. You can use live or plastic plants.
Temperature range 75-80. Maintain 1 tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons. |
| Feeding | Feed twice a day with standard foods such as Flake food, ( Tetra Pro ) brine shrimp, plankton, bloodworms and algae tablets for your catfish. For increased growth rates feed 3 times a day. Supplement with Tetra Color Bits. |
