General:  A very attractive, peaceful and hardy tetra.  They are not a typical schooling tetra, but are still best kept in 2 or more.  They do best in tanks with peaceful fish and bushy plants.

Males have longer and narrower dorsal fins with forklike protrusions in the middle of their tails.

Feeding:  Feed at least twice a day.  They will accept a variety of foods.  Feed flakes, along with brine shrimp, bloodworms or frozen foods.  A tetra will show its best color after you have owned it for a few months, and have given it a high quality diet.
