General:  A very hardy and popular tetra.  These are lively fish that spend their time in the middle or upper layers of the tank. They like to swim in groups and always show best color when kept in groups.  A good community fish for beginners. Just keep them with fish of  similar size and temperament.

Housing:  Provide plenty of open swimming room as well as some bushy plants for hiding. Standard water conditions are fine.  (pH- 6.5-7.0)

Feeding:  Feed at least twice a day.  They will accept a variety of foods.  Feed flakes, along with brine shrimp, bloodworms or frozen foods.  A tetra will show its best color after you have owned it for a few months and have given it a high quality diet.
