General:  A surface dwelling fish.  
Feeding:  Feed live foods such as small goldfish once every day or two. They will often accept freeze-dried krill.
Housing: Keep tank covered;  tank size should be 75 gallon or larger.
Compatibility:  Keep with fish of similar size (that it can not swallow).  Usually  mixes well in tanks with large oscars, plecostomus,  and jack dempsey cichlids.
Natural Habitat:  North America
