Elephant Nose Fish
|
|
General: An interesting addition to a community tank. Once adapted they
are hardy and long-lived. They are bottom dwellers that should be given some
hiding spots.
Compatibility: Peaceful with fish of
similar size although they are somewhat territorial and quarrelsome among
themselves. Do not mix with small fish such as neons. Fish that
go well with elephant noses: Community #2, Community
#4
Notes: These fish have unusually large brains and feeble
electric organs in the tail. They are native to Africa.
Feeding: Feeds from the bottom, feed shrimp, tubifex worms, and frozen
bloodworms. They will enjoy some live worms that we sell on
occasion.
