General: One of the most colorful cichlids. It is less aggressive than some other Cichlasoma cichlids. It is prone to hiding when in with very aggressive fish. Under optimal conditions that will develop lots of gold and red coloration.
Diet: Like most cichlids they will accept a variety of foods such as cichlid pellets, cichlid flakes, frozen foods, krill. Feed young fish 2-3 times daily. Adults can be fed 1-2 times a day.
