General: 
A colorful cichlid that can become aggressive.  Keep them with other cichlids of similar size and temperament.  Juveniles are all right in groups, but adults should be kept as singles.  Adults sometimes fight by locking jaws.  Temperature 70-80

They are capable of rapid color changes from black to gray when frightened.   This fish can be a true "show" fish when kept under the proper conditions.

Feeding:  Like most cichlids they will accept a variety of foods such as cichlid pellets, cichlid flakes, frozen foods, krill.  Feed young fish 2-3 times daily.  Adults can be fed 1-2 times a day.
