Convict Cichlid
General: A feisty cichlid . It can defend itself against bigger
fish. They are easy to breed. Females are smaller than males with rounded
fins and reddish zones on the abdomen. Provide hiding spots and caves.
You can mix them with similar sized firemouths, jack dempseys, and other South
American cichlids Diet: Like most cichlids they will accept a variety of foods such as cichlid pellets, cichlid flakes, frozen foods, krill. Feed young fish 2-3 times daily. Adults can be fed 1-2 times a day. Compatibility: Fish that go well with convict cichlids: Community #8
