General:  A hardy and mild-mannered cichlid.  Like most geophagus cichlids they like to dig in the gravel.  Mature males are more colorful.  They are a mouthbrooder.

Diet:  Like most cichlids they will accept a variety of foods such as Cichlid pellets, Cichlid flakes, frozen foods, Krill.  Feed young fish 2-3 times daily.  Adults can be fed 1-2 times a day.

Compatibility:  Fish that go well with brasiliensis cichlids:  Community #6, Community #7
